In the next few months, we will be developing an Early
Childhood Teacher Recruiting Program. The goals of this
program is to provide NC Child Care Centers, Schools &
Homes with a variety of qualified & better trained teaching
staff, in turn lifting the overall quality of our field. Since the
staffing issue is important to you, it is very important to us! It
is also important to have your feedback on the best way to
serve this need. Please, take a few moments & fill out the

Question One: We would Pre-Screen & Interview candidates, check
references, and use only those who we feel would be an asset to our field. This
information would be provided to you before intrviewing. Would this be
beneficial to you?

Question TWO: We would do their Criminal Background Checks,
Fingerprinting, & TB Test, so that the candidates would be ready for hire as
soon as you need them. Would this be beneficial to you?

Question Three: We would provide 8.0 hours of New Hire Orientation for all
candidates including: Recognizing & Reporting Abuse & Neglect, Ratios &
Supervision, Licensing & Sanitation Regulations, Star Rated License, Behavior
Management, & more. Would this be beneficial to you?

Question Four: We would provide 18 Credit Hours of training/workshops,
including: Infant, Child, & Adult CPR, Basic First Aid, No More Drama (gossip,
professionalism, etc.), Playground Safety & Supervision, and Effective Parent
Communication. We feel this would better prepare the candidates to be able to
go right into the classroom environment successfully. Would this be beneficial
to you?

Question Five: Our idea is that you would call PDS with the positions you
need filled & we would send you a list of applicants that meet your criteria to
interview. The candidates would come to you with all their training hours for that
year, their transcripts, approval letter from the division, orientation
documentation & more. Would this be beneficial to you?

Question Six: Most recruiting services charge 20% of the hired individual's 1st
year salary. (ex. 20% of $25,000 to fill a year position) We feel that may be to
high. Would 10% be reasonable to you for a new hire with all their training
hours for the 1st year, orientation, fingerprints, criminal check, & more all ready
completed?

Question Seven: Since we would have a large amount of qualified & trained
candidates waiting to be interviewed & hired, we are considering also starting a
sub program so that the candidates can earn money while waiting for their turn
to interview for positions. This would serve centers/programs when they are
short-handed & also give potential employers (you) the opportunity to see them
in action. Would this be beneficial to you?
